Stanwood Mills Inc. (also known under its trade name, Ramsay Fabrics) is a leading supplier of specialty woven textiles. For much of its 91 year history, Stanwood owned and operating weaving mills. In 1998, it joined forces with a select group of domestic and foreign mills to create a dependable supply chain for its unique products.

Stanwood Mills serves many different markets with products designed primarily for light industrial or technical apparel applications. The company’s extensive line includes synthetic filament warps of acetate, nylon, and polyester. A wide range of widths, fillings, finishes, and secondary operations are used to meet specific end use requirements. As experienced weavers, our motto is “simple manufacturing, customized end products” wherever possible. This allows us to be a responsive and cost-effective resource.

To broaden its offerings, Stanwood has entered an agreement with a producer of heavier synthetic fabrics, and now has the capability to supply products with yarn sizes up to 2500 denier.

These partnerships leverage expertise through the fabric development process. Our many years of technical and manufacturing experience have resulted in numerous long-term relationships with both suppliers and customers.

Stanwood is owned and managed by John Shulman. Other key employees add deep woven textile experience. John is recognized for his expertise, having served as an Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association for 15 years.
